Rural Revitalization: A county in Guizhou introduces a fermented broad bean chili sauce production line, fostering a "One Village, One Product" specialty industry.

To boost rural industrial revitalization, Qianxi County in Guizhou Province recently introduced a production line for douban chili sauce. Leveraging the region's abundant resources of broad beans and chili peppers, the project aims to develop a "one village, one product" specialty industry. Led by the county government and backed by technical support from a well-known Sichuan-based seasoning company, the initiative features a total investment of 120 million yuan and is projected to generate an annual output value of 300 million yuan.

The project is spearheaded by the county government, in collaboration with a well-known Sichuan-based seasoning company that is providing technical support. With a total investment of 120 million yuan, the initiative is expected to generate an annual output value of 300 million yuan.

“Previously, the village’s broad beans and chili peppers could only be sold at low prices to local buyers. Now, right at our doorstep, they’re processed into fermented broad bean paste and spicy sauces—boosting their value many times over,” said Wang Dajie, a villager from Qianxi County. He added that the production line has already created jobs for more than 50 villagers, with each earning a monthly salary of over 4,000 yuan. Meanwhile, the project is also set to drive the development of standardized farming bases in five neighboring villages, forming a self-sustaining rural industrial loop encompassing “cultivation + processing + sales”—a vital boost to solidifying the achievements made in poverty alleviation efforts.
