Ayi River Douban Chili Sauce Boosts Rural Revitalization, Helping Over 2,000 Farmers Increase Their Income

In the Aihe region of Guizhou's Wujiang River basin, the fermented broad bean chili sauce industry is emerging as a new engine for rural revitalization. According to local government statistics, Aihe’s fermented broad bean chili sauce producers have already spurred participation in the industry among more than 2,000 households across five surrounding townships, boosting each household’s annual income by over 18,000 yuan.

According to local government statistics, Ai River’s fermented broad bean chili sauce producers have already spurred participation in the industry among more than 2,000 households across five surrounding townships, boosting each household’s annual income by over 18,000 yuan.

Through the "Enterprise + Base + Farmer" model, enterprises sign planting contracts with farmers for broad beans and chili peppers, providing them with unified access to seeds and technical guidance—and then purchasing the agricultural products at a price 15% higher than the market rate. Meanwhile, these enterprises also employ local rural surplus labor in their factories, engaging them in tasks like producing and packaging fermented broad bean chili sauce, where workers earn an average monthly salary of 3,500 yuan. The Party Secretary of Aiyihe Township stated that the enterprise plans to further expand its industrial scale, extend the value chain, and develop an integrated specialty complex combining farming, processing, and tourism—ultimately helping more farmers achieve prosperity.
